The Moon will be used as the initial source for raw materials. The lunar soil, called Regolith, is rich in the raw elements that can be used to construct a space station.
Once there are enough supplies for exploration of other raw material sources, expeditions can be sent to the asteroid belt. The asteroid belt contains many large bodies that could be used for resources.
